1. Categories

Similar to the handicap systems we are all familiar with at our golf clubs, each Titan member will fall into 1 of 3 categories.

Category 1 Handicaps 1 – 9

Category 2 Handicaps 10 – 18

Category 3 Handicaps 19 – 36

Maximum allowed is 36 (and they should be made to play off of the ladies tee).

2. Adjustments

Handicap adjustments will be subject to player’s position in field (top 3 cut, bottom 3 increased) and the amount adjusted will be dependence on the player’s category.

3. Starting New system

Current Titan handicaps will become null & void and official club handicaps will be used as an initial starting point. Therefore each Titan member with an official club handicap must provided this information promptly to the Handicap Secretary.

3.2 Without club handicaps

All players without an official club handicap will have one calculated by the handicap secretary using data from previous events.

Players with an official club handicaps must never play off a handicap higher than this. Their Titan’s handicap must be either the same or lower at all times.

4. New Members

New Titan members with an official club handicaps are ineligible for prizes until they have completed in more than 1 Titan’s event, and have had their handicap confirmed by Titan’s Handicap Secretary.

New Titan members without an official club handicaps are also ineligible for prizes until they have completed in more than 1 Titan’s event, which needs to be in the presence of a committee member. The committee member shall be required to provide their observations, and these observations shall be considered by Handicap Secretary when calculating an appropriate Titans handicap.

5. Handicap discrepancies

Handicap appeals need to be put in writing and directed to handicap secretary, who shall present the case at next available committee meeting (or extraordinary meeting if necessary) and a decision made by the committee via a majority decision.

A minimum of 3 committee members (handicap secretary plus 2 others) need to be present.
