Roan wins Titans 1st Major on a wet Bowood Course!
On a wet Sunday afternoon Christos Sibanda Drove off our 1st Major for 2020. For those watching we thought that he’d hooked it right but it turned out to be a clever shot to find a dry piece of ground ….
Due to the wet winter and the rain we had for the first 9 holes the course was sodden in most places resulting in a few plugged balls and not much roll ( if any) on the fairways. In fact it was preferred lies on all the course – rough included. The greens however were a different story and were mainly dry, firm and in great condition.
For the back 9 holes the rain stopped and the sun even made a welcome appearance. Even though the weather was not the best to start with everyone had a great day and enjoyed the nice food afterwards. Of course due to the Covid -19 outbreak we adopted offering elbows rather than shaking hands, as you can see in the pictures.
For this year we have reintroduced the nearest the pin on a par 3, which was won by Kirris Williams and also introduced a nearest the pin in 2 on a par 4 which was won by Fearon Newell (aka Fez)
For the main prizes, 1st place went to Roan McLeod, 2nd was Christos Sibanda and 3rd was Gene Lewis.
