Situated above Weston Super-mare with great views of the Bristol Channel and Wales, Worlebury Golf Club welcomed the Titans for their first visit. A par 70 course which is well maintained, good greens and had some interesting holes. Due to the way the course covers a few different fields either side of a single track road there was a bit of criss-crossing to get to some of the holes. Although it doesn’t spoil the course. I imagine with Worlebury being on top of a hill that when they get strong winds from the Bristol Channel it would be a difficult course.

The day started sunny but a few heavy showers later on made it a bit tricky. Luckily we didn’t have much wind. The conditions didn’t stop Christos Sibanda though who Aced the 123 yard par 3 12th hole. An expensive hole in one as he dully followed tradition and bought everyone a drink to celebrate. He then birdied the following 265 yard par 4 13th after driving the green from the Tee. Possibly those two holes won him the match as he finished 2 points in front of Darren Passway. In fact the scores for the top 3 were very good considering the heavy showers that we had.The club was very welcoming and the food was excellent – probably the best curry we have had at a Titans event.

Final positions

1st   Christos Sibanda     39 pts

2nd  Darren Passway      37 pts

3rd   Isaac Barrant          36 pts

Average par 3          Christos  with 11 shots over 4 holes – the Hole in one certainly helped.

Pink Towel              Ras D Judah  The wet end to the day got the better of him.

Next Event is back over the Bridge to Greenmeadow on 8th August 11.30am
